The consultation fees are a guide only as fees are set by your Doctor independently. Your Doctor independently reviews the fees regularly in line with CPI and based on guidance from the Australian Medical Association. Consultation fees allow your Doctor to continue to provide quality and comprehensive care across all elements of your health. If you hold a valid concession card, your consultation fee may be at the discounted rate.

Payment & Medicare Rebate
Your Doctor at Whitehorse Medical Centre independently charges private fees for all consultations. This applies to all patients, including Pensioners, Health Care Card holders, and children under 16. If you have not consulted your Doctor in the last 12 months face-to-face, you may NOT be eligible for Medicare rebate from Telehealth consultations as the rebate is only available in a limited number of exceptions.
The fees are set independently by your Doctor. Fees vary depending on your Doctor and the length of time you spend with your Doctor or Nurse and the complexity of your medical condition. Your Doctor or Nurse cannot always predict how complex your consultation will be. Procedures, wound care and travel and non-schedule vaccines will incur extra costs. Please discuss the fees with your Doctor beforehand.
ALL consultations with Dr Kolin LU, Dr Julie WANG or Dr Linda WALLACE will incur an out-of-pocket cost from 1st July 2023. These changes will apply to ALL patients regardless of concession status.
All fees are expected to be paid to your Doctor on the day of consultation. We accept credit card (Visa or Mastercard) and debit card payments. You may be eligible to claim Medicare rebate for the consultation. For services that are eligible for Medicare, Whitehorse Medical Centre has Medicare Online that enables us to transmit your Doctor’s fees claimed directly to Medicare for a refund. This refund is then paid by electronic funds transfer (EFT) to your nominated bank account.
Whitehorse Medical Centre provides facility and support services to a list of Specialist General or Medical Practitioners that provide expert health advice and treatment for a wide range of conditions. The Centre does not hire or employ any Medical Practitioners. Rather, the Medical Practitioners operate independently, and utilise the first class services and facility from Whitehorse Medical Centre to operate their medical practice.
Extended Medicare Safety Net
If you’re enrolled in Medicare you’re eligible for the Extended Medicare Safety Net (EMSN). Each time you pay an out of pocket cost, it’s calculated towards the EMSN threshold. If you reach the threshold as an individual or as part of a family, you may be eligible for a higher rebate from Medicare.
Referral to Specialists, Prescriptions & Sick Certificates
If you need a referral to a new specialist or health provider, you will need to make an appointment with your Doctor. Repeat referral requests may be made with your Doctor (on case by case basis) online or by telephone. Repeat referral requests will attract a fee of $35 (no Medicare rebate).
Medication prescriptions will usually give you enough medications for six months. You will need to make an appointment with your Doctor to update the prescriptions every six months. Repeat prescription requests may be made with your Doctor (on case by case basis) online or by telephone. Repeat prescription requests will attract a fee of $25 (no Medicare rebate). Your Doctor can provide you with electronic prescriptions via SMS, email or paper form, where possible. This saves you time, streamlines the process and improves medicine safety.
Some Doctors at Whitehorse Medical Centre are able to offer Single Day Medical Certificate to existing patients online or by telephone. If you need a back-dated certificate, a certificate to cover more than one day or consults requiring physical examination, you will need to make an appointment with your Doctor. If you have symptoms of chest pain, shortness of breath or another medical emergency, please call 000. Request for Single Day Certificate without a consultation will attract a fee of $21 (no Medicare rebate).
Cancellation Policy
Please understand that your Doctor’s appointment times are limited. If you must cancel your appointment, we respectfully request at least 2 hours notice. Missed appointments, or appointments cancelled without 2 hours notice, will incur a full equivalent consult fee without Medicare rebate.
